Hey Wealthy Girl
Today’s blog is inspired by a conversation I had with my husband. He came back from work and told me I think I need to see a psychologist. I immediately stopped what I was doing and went to sit down with him. I asked him Why? He said lately my mind goes blank at work, I literally have to ask myself what am I doing again? He said it’s alarming because it is happening every day now when he zones out and cannot figure out what he was doing and how he moved from one place to the next. I asked him a couple of questions he answered me and we looked for a psychologist.
My analysis was he was overworked and his brain could not catch up, it was sending signals to the body to rest (shut down). Most of us wake up every day to jobs we don’t like and unethical managers that micro-manage us and we have to because we have responsibilities. Some companies have programs that support employee wellness and that’s amazing but some companies have these programs on paper and they are never implemented. So how do you cope in a place that doesn’t prioritize your wellness?
I’ve compiled a list below:
Start your day with the right mind: Let the first thing you do in your day nourish your spirit (I personally start my day with grow with jo – YouTube and no social media for the first hour.
Have a quiet time: 5minute of meditation or prayer, 5minutes of affirmations if you don’t know what to say, you can check my previous blog Choose life (sheiscertified.com).
Speak into your day: Declare the day blessed, declare it successful with your mouth.
Do one thing you enjoy per day: this sounds so simple but it’s so powerful. Sitting down and writing things you enjoy and making a commitment to do just 1 will change your whole mood. I play with my dog and I have a song I listen to daily.
Don’t entertain negative talk during the day: This will drain all the work you did when you woke up.
Laugh: Spend time with colleagues who make you laugh instead of colleagues who always complain about how horrible the job is and how horrible the hours are.
These are a few simple things you can do to protect your peace. You may not be able to control what happens around you but you have full control over how you receive it. Your spirit is like a sponge, it absorbs and when it is full access comes out. Fill yourself with goodness until you have the courage and strategy to walk away and step into your best life.
Proverbs 15:1 A soft and gentle and thoughtful answer turns away wrath, But harsh and painful and careless words stir up anger.
I love you
